December 2020

By Janet Casson

TUE DEC 01, 2020

As we near the darkest day of the year, rest with the confidence that lighter days will follow.

December 21st marks the winter solstice. This event invites us to look deeply inward, which...let's be honest...we've had the opportunity to do for much of this year! I have been doing a lot of introspection lately, including examining how I want to engage with and contribute to this world.

I'm so grateful to be journeying with you; witnessing your strength, agility, perseverance and hopefulness. May we all find the will to look up and see the bright possibilities that, not only await us, but that are asking to be created by us.

I have created some offerings to guide us in looking inward and hopefully to inspire us to also look up. Please explore with me via online workshops and series, continued commitment to anti-racism work, and personalized SomaYoga sessions.

Turn inward in order to know better how to shine your light outward.

My! You're bright!

Online Workshops & Series

Sweet Surrender
a restorative yoga workshop

When was the last time that you admitted that you are already complete? That you don't have to always be DOING? That you are enough simply by BEING?

Restorative yoga is a practice that helps to remind us of these truths. It is the practice of intentionally and consciously powering down. It invites your nervous system to discover and maintain a state of calm and ease through poses that are held for several minutes with the support of props, including blankets and cushions. This workshop includes journaling prompts, aromatherapy options, and breath awareness tools for finding and maintaining calm whenever you need it. Savasana comes complete with a lullabye.

Sunday, December 20th 4:00-5:15 PM CST

Beginners' Series
a workshop in 4 parts

This series of workshops is designed for those who are brand new to yoga, as well as those with an established practice who are interested in refining their understanding of yoga and their relationship to their bodies.

The goal of the classes e is to gain strength, flexibility and ease in one’s body and mind and to deepen the relationship between both. You will be challenged while simultaneously impressing yourself with all that you are already capable of doing.

Each 90-minute class will include discussion, breakdown of poses and asana practice, and each will build on what was learned in the previous session.

By the end, you will feel CONFIDENT attending a group yoga class.

Saturdays, January 9th, 23rd, 30th & February 6th 2:00-3:30 PM CST
Total Investment: $108 for all 4 classes
